Re: A whole lotta bacon - 04/10/15 02:49 AM
I vote higher. Several of those are HUGE. I am thinking 4 at 100 each, and 300 avg for the other 4 would be 1600 total. Regardless, cool pic. So did you commit mass hogicide, or was that just a kodak moment? Just curious since you imply that you have the "actual" weight, which would require the hogicide.

We are trapping three ranches right now. Erecting enclosure on Saturday at this place now that the hogs are coming in. I meant to say guess the weight of the largest. I will post actual weight when they are sold.

Re: A whole lotta bacon - 04/16/15 02:15 AM
Now that we have the enclosure built the hogs have not yet returned. This is normal behavior after introducing something new. Hogs hate change.

Re: A whole lotta bacon - 04/16/15 03:12 PM
Our visitors from last night. Note the 4 on the outside of the enclosure. Had this been a mechanically fired trap we would have only served educate the 4 adult pigs making it extremely difficult in the future to ever capture them. We will continue to monitor until we can ensure most if not all the hogs are trapped from this sounder.

As his became comfortable more and more are showing up. We have not seen the original group for several days. This sounder has over 20 members. We will close the gate when will enter the enclosure.

Re: A whole lotta bacon - 04/28/15 01:13 AM
We closed the gate on a completely different sounder. 24 hogs total weight 1075, largest 148. We are still waiting on the bruisers to show back up since we put up the coral.

After disappearing months ago these slabs have returned. Deal still holds, guess the weight of the largest one and the total weight of the sounder when caught and win a Hogs for a Cause ball cap.
