Might be a dumb question about yotes and shotguns - 01/08/15 01:36 PM
Me and a buddy were talking about new chokes and loads for our shotguns we use for coyotes and the question came up about pulling the plugs out to get maybe one more shot. Is it legal or not? Never thought about it before and could not find anything about it.

You only have to have the plug in for game birds. Other than that, it's game on. I use a 870 with an extended mag...holds 8 in the shotgun and another 6 in a sidesaddle.

I like the hevi shot dead coyote choke and Federal #4 buck for my loads. There are a lot of other options that cost way more but I like this set up. Choke runs about 40 and the loads are around $2.50 each.

You only have to have a plug in to limit your gun to 3 shots for Migratory game birds such as ducks, geese, doves etc... Upland birds such as quail, pheasant, turkey etc... you do not.
