Death by Blackout - 12/03/14 10:07 PM

Outside of Bonham Monday night and had 20 pigs come in about 7:00 PM. Got these two with a 110 gr Barnes in 300 Blackout.

Picture shows how photographs can lie; pig in front was maybe 60 pounds and pig in back was about 160.

Nice shooting brother! My 300blk loves that ammo too. Did you find either bullet or did they pass straight through?

Excellent on the ammo. Excellent on the hunt. Those look like some nice, clean hogs.

And thank you for the nice demonstration of forced perspective. That is a good example.

In response to ImTheReasonDovesMourn, both were shot in the head and bullets passed through. My reloads average 2400 fps and I get two holes on head, neck or shoulder shots.

That's what I figured. I shot my first buck last Saturday with my 12" 300blk and 110gr Barnes. Straight through both shoulders at 60 yards and he dropped like a sack of taters.

I like the forced prospective pic, my blkout likes eating pigs as well. but I'm throwing 220 gr sub sonics. This one is a hair over 200

Nice pig. What type of bullet are you using in the subsonics? I tried subs, but the raccoon's laughed them off so I never shot a pig with em.'

Good shooting, I love my little blackout! I shoot suppressed .300 win mag, .308 winchester, .243 winchester, .556, and 300 blackout. The 300 blackout is my go to rifle using the barnes 110. I killed six pigs out of a group a few weeks ago. First two where lined up, then shot another coming across sendero, then three 15 pounders coming across. Had bacon laying everywhere.

I love bacon. I am using 220 gr soft points. Destroys coons, pigs, fox and porcupines, haven't used it on deer yet. That pig didn't make it 60 yards. I tried head shots with the subsonic but failed to recover 2 pig. Pump house shots work very well.
