A little opening day action

A little opening day action - 11/03/14 04:50 AM

Had this female come in after a very slow day of deer hunting. I bought a foxpro last fall and have called and called with no luck in the coyote department, I've had a few small bobcats come in to it, but no luck with the song dogs. And I have never seen a coyote while deer hunting here. But About 10 after 6 on opening evening, she's cruising my opening, coming straight at me, at about 200 yards. I had her in the crosshairs quick. Running straight at me, I wondered how much closer she'd get and about that time she stopped, head down, staring at me, and I knew it was time. 162 yards and 117 grains of Hornady later, she had a bit of a headache.

Did you double tap her?

nah, the hole on the back of her head is the exit, and the hole in her shoulder is a second entrance

Lol. I don't think she is gonna make that mistake again. Nice dog.

I had one wander in last year about 165 out from my blind. As it turns out, a 210gr Berger outta the 300 RUM makes them pretty sick too.
