Nope, I went down to gander the other day and they didn't know anything yet. Sounds like you need to call in sick.

Alright guys I got one sponsor so far. Or should I say door prize. A buddy of mine is throwing in a Hydrodip on a euro mount. I believe he said the euro needs to already be done.

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/13/11 05:00 PM

I would be interested in teaming up with someone. I have accurate AR-15's to accurate long range bolt guns. I have called in a few yotes, but wouldn't say I'm an expert caller. PM me if interested. Thanks!

Do you have any idea how many teams you will have ?

Posted By: amcalister

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/21/11 01:44 AM

As of right now I have had about 10 people say they would have teams there. Last year I didn't advertise as much as this time and we had about 14 teams there.

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/21/11 05:41 PM

I have some land to hunt but would like some more if you have land I have everything else we have a team and would like to put one more on if you have some land in Ellis county

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/30/11 04:11 PM

Maybe this is a REALLY stupid question, but do the varmints have to be killed in Ellis county? Did I miss that in the rules?

Posted By: elliscountyhog

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/30/11 04:30 PM

We will be there.

Posted By: vernon1984

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/30/11 06:33 PM

That isn't a stupid question. I need to know too because if it is just Ellis county then we won't be able to hunt. But if it's statewide then we will be there

Posted By: Tim.bever

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/30/11 07:48 PM

Well you have to be at check in at 8 o clock am to start than you have to drive were you are going to hunt than be back at weigh in or were we are gunna see who wins ... Would b my guess.... But the travel time and hunting time would sux if you live far away

Posted By: sagebrushassassin

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/30/11 08:29 PM

My buddy called the phone # and they said u can hunt anywhere, the only disadvantage (as already stated) is the drive time if your land is too far away.

Posted By: Tim.bever

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/30/11 08:57 PM

You can tell if the yote has been dead for over 24 hours easy so no cheating

Posted By: sagebrushassassin

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 12/30/11 09:02 PM

Don't worry about us doing that. My places to hunt are in Navarro county. I won't be trying to do this from Angelo. Just hope I can work my schedule out so we can participate...

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 01/03/12 05:44 PM

I read but didn't see can the teams split
Up and hunt diffrent Ranches?

Posted By: amcalister

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 01/03/12 11:02 PM

No sir, teams can split up but must remain on the same property. One thing I did forget to put in the rules is that there will be a 10 animal cap on each species. If you kill ten of one species then you will need to record the time you kill it.

Posted By: cp50948

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 01/04/12 12:17 AM

10 Animal cap for each species or ten animals period

Posted By: amcalister

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 01/04/12 02:04 AM

10 animal cap for each species. I fixed it in the earlier post, sorry about that.

Re: Ellis County Varmint Competition - 01/09/12 05:24 PM

Nice! up

That grey one there in the last pic doesn't look like a pure 'yote almost? Like it cross bred with something. I'm no expert but the skull looks "wrong".

Gotta get those dog/'yote crosses out of there! They ain't scared of people one bit.
