I know years back, that a commercial grade steer yeilded 63-65% of its body weight after being slaughtered, and spanish goats yeild about 42% of body weight.

1000 lb steer will yield about 630-650lbs of meat.

So, how much would a 200lb wild hog yeild?

Depends on how good you are. My best is about 40%.

I concur with 40%, we just got 60 # back from Gorman's from a yearling boar that was 150# or thereabouts just before the .223 went "POW".

I just cleaned a 76 pounder hanging weight that after skinning, gutting and cutting off feet weighed 34 pounds. You do the math.
