I threw one in a herd once and it didn't kill a single one. Just sputtered some fruity smelling crap. Think I'll go back to frag grenades...

Claymores are the shizmet on hogs.......... but if you absolutely have to shoot a hog then I would go w/ a GE mini gun.

rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl

Remember though, that it's har dto attract hogs via scent like you do with deer. In order for the scent to work, you have to have the pig downwind of the scent. If you're in the area, your scent will also be on the downwind current. Deer will often smell the scent, and you, and through dumb curiosity, still come in to the smell. Hogs usually won't do that. They'll smell the scent, then smell you, and then high tail it into the next county. Pigs don't get curious like deer. They just bolt is something is awry....Good Luck!!!

They don't work, none of that stuff works. If you want hogs, use corn and lots of it, start 3 days before and bait the area up like crazy. Don't waste your time with Kool-aid, diesel, or all that BS. I can't count how many times people have come out to our ranches with that kind of stuff and completely blow their hunt with some store bought scam. Just stick to feeding the hogs really well, a pig and glutton are often referred to the same thing for a reason, both will eat themselves to death! Lots of Corn = Kill. Most people who kill a hog either have night vision, luck, a hog saturated area, or just stay away from the feeder area and stay down wind, even if that means getting out of that cozy stand and sitting on the ground.

Agreed.....they don't work. If you have already bought some from the store, then they've already done what they were supposed to do.

ok so when i put the corn out coons and everything elece will eat the corn before the pigs get there so what do u recamend for that?

Re: hog bomb! - 09/08/10 06:16 PM

Just pour diesel on the corn. The hogs love it and the coons wont touch it.

so deer, coons, squerals, and anything elece wont touch it except pigs with diesel?

Let them come and eat it. Just put more out. The whole diesel mixture is never a good thing. Sure it can fend off other game, but I've also seen diesel soaked corn never get eaten, even after a few months. The reason people came up the the whole diesel corn mixture is to prevent deer from getting in their hog traps, not for general baiting. If you want hogs, go to the store and buy 3 bags of corn, put out a bag of corn every other day until the day you plan to hunt. Also, don't put it in a pile spread it out and make them work for it, it will last longer too. Now when your putting out the corn, do it in the middle of the day which is the best time to not spook the hogs, and also gives the area a little time to rid itself of your scent. If you go out and spread out corn in the morning or the evening, chances are you will spook the hogs long before you get there and they will learn quick from your mistakes.

Re: hog bomb! - 09/08/10 10:28 PM

Just be sure to buy plenty of corn because you potentially be feeding deer, raccoons, crows, oppossum, squirrels, armadillos, and of course hogs with whatever corn you put out. So throw a bunch.
