We had a BLAST in SD.

Hunted a hour west of Mitchell SD along the Missouri River and found a few Pheasants and Prairie Chickens.

Most of the birds would flush ahead of us but, Judee did get to point some Pheasants and Prairie Chickens, it was a sight to see these young dogs in birds.

The pictures can tell the story.

Unknown amount of birds were was using this pasture, it was way to big for us to cover but, we had some fun in it.

We duck hunted this morning and it's just not the same.

Those big red and white headed bastages getting up under a young dog and making all that noise, well it is just something else and those Chickens hold just like quail, wished I was smarter on what was going on when they flushed.

Weather permitting, I will make that drive again this year.

Very nice! Enjoyed the photos. Looks like you hit the weather about perfect. I just got back from a couple weeks in North Dakota and it was cold and snowy. Watching a cackling rooster flush straight up, from under your dogs point, on a nice sunny day is about as spectacular as upland hunting gets. The sharpies are sporty birds. When they flush, they seem to fly forever.
