Any quail around Ringling , OK? - 07/10/17 03:02 PM

I've been invited to do some quail hunting this fall around Ringling, OK by a rancher friend of mine. Anyone here have any personal experience with the bird numbers in this area?

None (experience), but if it's in western Okla pretty good chance it's ok.

Ask CCBIRDDOGMAN on here. They lease up there somewhere.

Our place was about 30 miles west of there. Was never large amounts of birds but we had some decent seasons there during some bad years in Texas. Didn't hunt there last year. Year before last when Texas had a good boom, we had less birds. I think we had too much rain & flooding.

While Ringling is not far enough west to be considered prime quail country in Oklahoma, there could be enough birds to make it interesting.

The rancher should know where the coveys are and how many.

yes there is birds, no one really looks to hunt there. I would not expect a limit but you have enough to hunt
