Nice Hunt, few pics

With low expectations based on 68 for a high temps yesterday, had a really good hunt yesterday about 2.5 hours northwest of metromess. Hunted fours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon and pushed 14 coveys. At least 5 coveys were over 20 birds, all were over 15. Dog work was really good for as green and hot as it was, with lots and lots of bird contact for my 7 mos old. Few pics attached. First one you can see part of a huge covey on the ground in the far left under a tree base behind the angled mesquite branches, but its not coming out as good on the forum post. Man, cant wait to get on them when its 48 for a high and not hunting on top of golf course green grass, gonna to be real real good.

bet you will do well reeltexan, rains early in the week has scenting conditions above normal. Bring an extra pair of boots and socks is my recommendation for a lunch time swap out, I had to cross a couple of swamps to get to dogs on point Thurs.

Turned out great, as expected. Scenting was great - plenty of moisture on the ground. 45 degrees at the start.

The dogs found five coveys in the morning. We started at 8 and broke for lunch at 11. After some chow and a short nap we restarted about 2:30 and hunted until almost 5, finding seven more.

Feet stayed dry (thanks Irish Setters), in the afternoon we broke out the Mule.

Dang it was a fun day.
