Best quail outfitter in the state?

Who has the most birds as of the last few years? I'm assuming it's somewhere in the panhandle?

I think I would try the Pitchfork. Larry Hill is an old friend who was guiding there last year.

I have goose hunted with them before, but I havent quail hunted with them on their fully guided hunts

Id have to throw out the mariposa ranch in brooks county is ridiculously great for quail year in year out.

The Mariposa is also ridiculously priced.

The smiths guide with their dogs on the mariposa. Ronnie trained my Brit. She got to hunt the Mariposa, 6666 at Guthrie, and up in Montana. I just mailed the checks

What outfitter has the best wild bird hunting and numbers that isn't ridiculously priced that regular people can afford?

You want a fully guided wild bird hunt (e.g. somebody that has dogs, takes you to the birds etc), right?

It would be much cheaper to go to a preserve and shoot pen raised birds.

I'm new to all this and have been digging around for a few months. So far I haven't found anything that matches that description.

Doesn't necessarily have to b fully guided. My buddy has a good dog and we are all experienced quail hunters, so honestly just paying for access to good bird country would do. Does anyone offer stuff like that??

It's been awhile since I talked to him but they did offer Un guided day hunts and reasonable prices. Worth a shot.

Only $3200 for two days of quail hunting. They'll even let you kill a damn bobcat for an additional $800.

That'd be out of my price range for a solid year of hunting rights on everything. I'm in the wrong line of work.

You can usually find a really good day lease by looking in the Amarillo paper, thrifty nickel or on the Amarillo Craigslist. Generally, most of them open up after deer season.

Just got on here, haven't been in the forum for awhile. I have over 20 sections up around Shamrock/Wellington area and another 40,000 acres under one fence out by Claremont. I'm eat up with birds and booking fast. Price depends on # of days hunted and how many hunters. I have a large string of pointers (9-12) is what I usually haul. UTV, lodging, meals, ect...
