Report from trainer - 09/05/16 01:18 PM

Got a report from trainer after pointer pup has been there a month. She's got a good nose, holding steady on pigeons, and has had a few killed over her already. Couldn't be happier! Will pick her up ouple days before season opens. Can't wait to get into some wild birds and let her get down to business.

Looking good. What trainer did you use?

Rick Glover. Owns the Yellow Rose Kennels where I got her.

How old? I've heard a lot of good things about their dogs.

Have you seen much of her in the field before training? Range, speed?

I got pup at 9 weeks. I don't have a place to work dogs anymore, but found a vacant field to run her in with check off before 16 weeks. She would range out 150-200 yards and come to whistle. No bird exposure, only some leash work and crate training before taking to trainer.

Lucky the dog that comes along on a year like this one promises to be. Exposure to lots of wild birds will really give her a push ahead!
