FIRST QUAIL

Hey all, I'm new to the forum, I just thought I'd share a picture of a few quail. I had originally planned an impromptu public land hunt but a work buddy of mine invited us out to his part of West Texas, and hunted with us. It turned out to be the perfect day. One of my old army brothers flew in from California, my hunting and fishing pal of 25 years dropped down from Wyoming, my dad and wife came out to hunt and together we busted brush and laughed and shot for a couple days in all. This picture is from the first couple hours. How many times in a mans life does he get to hunt a new creature in new country with so many loved ones around him? I feel like God made the day for me. To top it all off, we got to rescue a dog that was soon to be put down and now dad has a dog that couldnt be more well matched to him! And you know what? That dog hunts and points to perfection! I just had to share this with people who might understand.

That's what it's all about. Good times with good people (and dogs) that are important to us making great memories that will last a life time. Thumbs up to your buddy for giving you access to property (it's getting hard to find folks that will do that) and thanks for the picture and the story.
