Just curious. How often do outfitters replant for sunflowers in their fields where you Dove hunt?

Not an expert, but you should never have to reseed if you cultivate correctly.

Yep our lease the rancher just plows up the field in November. Then its up to Mother Nature for the rest. Our fields will always have sunflowers just matter how good they do.

Once you get a good stand of native sunflowers you're set. I fertilize and disc in January then start praying for rain. For native sunflowers you must disc before the last freeze for a decent stand.

Tuf-duc I never plant or put seed out. This is the first year that my farmer has plowed both front fields that you hunt. Hopefully the sunflowers with grow a little better. We will plant millet on my back 32ac in June and pray for rain

Not many landowners make the majority of their living off of dove
