I hunted with a coonass on the Angelina river ONE time. I learned you can kill way over a limit with one shot if you let them land in the decoys. When you bump the blind a little bit they'll get spooky and bunch up.

Reason number 5001 I need a bird dog. Even when they are flying great, one at a time takes about 30-45 minutes. If I take my eye off where they land in the sunflowers they are pretty much gone.

Back when the limit was 4 I had a 5 second hunt. Had 4 in the dekes at LST. Jumped em up, got a scotch double on my second shot and all 4 DRT.

This year is the first in... I don't know how long that I didn't even take a shot at a teal. Tried out west last weekend. I did learn after killing 8 doves on 8 shots that #5 Kent teal steel works well for that.
