Help on saving a duck for a mount

I would like to get a duck mounted this year if I manage to shoot one pretty enough. Anyone have any advice on how to preserve it until I can take it to the taxidermist? and while I'm at it, any recommended taxidermists in DFW?

Put it in a gallon size freezer bag.

If you want, wrap the feet in wet paper towels to help prevent freezer burn.

Dry it down. Wrap it in newspaper then place in a zip loc bag. Suck all the air out of it.

My taxi strongly recommends to NOT use any of the paper as it absorbs the moisture in the skin. I always bag mine trying to get out as much air as possible.

I have always heard use panty hose and that's what I have been doing,

My taxidermist tells me to do that. They have all turned out great. But a good rule of thumb is to get it there the same day. Which I always try to do.

Put the bird in a couple of ziplock freezer bags and get as much air out as possible and close up tight. If you have no freezer bags that are big enough for the bird wrap them in several thick trash bags air tight then tape them tight around the bird also be sure to tuck head under wing so it doesn't get snapped off in freezer. Panty hose is ok for the bird as long as it's wrapped in plastic as well. Treat the bird as if It was a steak that u was gonna eat that is what I tell my clients. I've also had guys vacuum seal them and works quite well.
