Gun Issue!!!???!!! - 08/31/16 08:42 PM

I was getting the dove gear ready yesterday and a bit later the gf got home and started to help. I told her to go get the guns out and bagged.

I come into the room and she is about to bag her gun and I asked her if she checked to see if the plug was in it.

She said "It's always in it."
I asked "What if I forgot to put it back in when it was cleaned last?" and said that she should probably make sure.
So she takes the forearm off and said "See, there's the plug."
I told her that that was the cap and the plug looks like this as I pulled one that goes to an identical gun out of the closet.
She mentions that she is going to need a screwdriver to remove the cap and I told her to just grab three shells and check real fast.
She puts a shell in, chambers it and then put the two others in the tube. She said "It's good."
I said "How can you tell when you only tried putting two in the tube?"
She does the same thing again with the same results.
I tell her not to chamber one and try putting them all in the tube.
She said "I can't fit three in the tube unless I put one in the chamber!"

We all shoot double barrels here, 2 O/U's, 2 side by sides....... 12 for big field walks,,,,, shooting over ponds,
20's or 28's........ on a F off afternoon when you buddys drink too much and want to wagger money on who hits more clay birds
down by the river, then we get out the 410 OU we used to shoot skeet with....... thats fun.......

99% our bird gun is the Winnie Pigeon grade in 20 gauge.....

hunt safe.....

That's when you say..."Oh, you're right, honey. I don't know what I was thinking."
And you smile and keep loading up the gear to go hunting.

You gotta pick your spots, son.
Take it from a man that's been married for 35 years.
