Yes not good for Dove- but again-it's like scouting for teal 3 weeks before season- meaningless

4.2 in the last 4 days here. Was getting close to have to start haying cows. We'll be in good shape for a while now.

This is day 7 of good rains for us, Wednesday we were at 7" total. I bet we are at 9 now with a lot more coming tonight

sallysue, about the same here( I'm on the county line Williamson/bell) but the birds are really all over. Hope they hang for another 11 days!!!

Fields should still be excellent but if you hunt tanks it could screw it up.

I'll be dove hunting mostly between austin and san antonio this year. I think this rain is going to be good for us. it will fill all our tanks in the area. If the rain stops in a couple days as the weather man says it will, then by a week later when opening day rolls around, the dove will be back at our water, which will have been replenished for the season.

The good and the bad...
It looks like we will be a little cooler than previous years, but there is still scattered in the long term for the DFW part of the world. Hopefully the ground will dry out enough to drive the birds to water.





South TX is looking pretty much the same.

Seems like we go through the same hand wringing every year... I am not too sure how much it really affects the hunting. Birds leave and other birds come in.
