First time hunter advice

I will be going on a guided deck hunt near Rockport on this coming Saturday. First time to duck hunt, so just looking for some tips. Was planning on running a modified choke with 3 inch #4s. Already have waders, but any tips on small things I might need or suggestions on ammo?

That's a fine load. Have fun, kill your redheads, and keep your face down when the pintails circle.

^yup, all that. I'd recommend either a face-mask or paint for those wary pins too. I would also recommend a darker camo color, more geared towards deer hunting, as opposed to normal duck camo patterns. And I shoot 2s or 3s, but 4s will definitely do the job as long as you keep the shots to 40 yards at the max. Other than that, your guide should take care of everything else.

Theres more then enough birds down there espicailly redheads , take your time and shoot some big plumed out drakes.

I would go ic with #4, keep shots within 45 yards, 20 to 35 yards preferably.

you should bring along the court jester, I bet hes more entertaining than the decoy carrier

I always take a couple pair of gloves and hand warmers but right now hand warmers aren't that big of deal

he's hunting with a guide most likely in the bay, he gets no choice on distance of shot

when the guide calls the shot, just come up swinging
