Offer for hunting buddy

Offer for hunting buddy - 12/03/15 05:44 PM

I have a 19' center console that my wife and I are looking to get camo covered and looking for areas to duck hunt around houston. We already hit the coast for divers but thinking about lake conroe or other possible public spots (we have public permit etc). I havent taken the boat out at all on lake conroe and it isnt super shallow (maybe ok for 2-3' deep water)... so just throwing it out there if
someone doesnt have a boat and knows general areas that may be good maybe we can go. I have only three dozen decoys (mallard, pintail, redheads) and a mojo...

Does your garage have wood floors????? Nice!

I Dont think you need to camo that pretty boat. Just park it and walk a couple hundred yard to sit in a blind or some brush. Wish i could help but I dont know the area you are looking for. Good kuck!

Yep. About 1000 sq' of wood floor garage space. The people who lived here before us had it set up like a karaoke stage. I wasnt talking about painting or getting it wrapped...I just have seen mesh and even neoprene type covers that are cammo...not sure if that would help as much as brushing it in or taking your suggestion.

I bet you could get a running flatbottom aluminum boat for not much more than the cost of doing a neoprene wrap on that one - that is ALOT of white to conceal. That, or park the boat and hoof it 400 yards to the honey hole.

According to some buds (and I was out there once) Conroe is pretty dead this year. Your best bet is sticking with the coast. Unlimited areas to check out down there!

yeah... I may stick to the coast. I got the boat from someone that had it on lake conroe and two mallards and a few other ducks were right around the boat launch, so I figured it may be a chance at getting something other than divers. Not that I have anything against divers..its all I have shot and they taste awesome to me! A little allegro smoke marinade, wrap in bacon with gouda and jalapeno, and its like a nice cut of filet.

Im reading up on it, but it looks like a lot of the bay can be hunted as long as not near a residence or road. that and the divers are dumb enough I probably wouldnt even need to brush it in. hahaha Had three flocks come over while I was standing in the middle of the spread and shot at the same group as they kept circling 4 times!

Thanks for the heads up on the TV still on! I was wondering why my electric bill was so high. roflmao
