You should see those whoopers he mounted last year
All BS aside – we had a very close call us with that three years ago. Every year I try to take several new Hunters to our place especially if they have kids if you're trying to get into hunting. We are in a closed crane zone. One morning a low light situation we had five cranes coming right straight to us and the guy that was with me really wanted to kill at Sandhill. I absolutely told him he could not shoot it out of my blind - As they passed overhead at 20 yards it was three sandhills and two whooping cranes. Those cranes have been back on our property every year for about three days at a time since then.
Second-best close call : I took two guys that had never been duckhunting before. I left them in the pit to walk around the lake and pick up some birds that had floated off. As I watched 30 pelicans approach the blind they jumped up and shot all six shots and did not cut a feather....
I can only imagine what some of our guide buddies on here have seen happen but would never talk about on the Internet forum.
