Hunting on the Trinity river in Liberty county? - 09/09/15 09:22 PM

I was wondering if it is legal to duck hunt on the Trinity river in Liberty county? I called the game warden to find out but no answer. I left a voicemail and hoped to hear back but that was a week ago. I'm going to try him again but didn't know if anyone on here might now from experience.

This would be between Moss Hill and Liberty.

Try the rivers website, it was no use to me, I'm from down that way and was interested in it last yr, but the river was closed for waterfowl hunting. I've read about u have to have a permit to hunt on champlange? No idea. I've looked and came up w a bunch of nothing.

You talking about champion reservoir down 1409? I used to have a deer lease off 1011 (governors road) and my stand was only a few hundred yards off the river. We used to kill quite a few ducks. Bunch of woodies

Most of the river in Liberty falls into the Trinity River NWR,so be real sure you know where the boundary lines are.

I'm speaking of hunting the actual river. Like from a sandbar. We are going to be going on an overnight kayaking trip and was wanting to bring some decoys and a gun... We would definitely not be going up past the river bed...
