Double gun Dove hunters, choke ??

First year with an over under, 20 ga. what's your favorite choke combination?

i had good luck the last two days with light modified over improved cylinder.

I have 2 Imp cylinder in mine. Lots of guys I know have Mod. and Imp.

Light mod and Imp mod. I like long shots.

I don't remember the maker of this gun, but a guy came out yesterday with a triple gauge 18" barrel, think it's Turkish. Craziest thing I've ever seen anybody use on dove. Looks like a home defense gun.

Cyl/IC or SK/LM 1.125 to 1.25oz of 7.5s with the open chokes.

IC/Mod in the 20ga with 1oz 7.5s

Got the triple gun.

Just depends on the situation, Buzz. Where I hunt I rarely shoot beyond 20 yards so I keep the most open chokes I have in the gun I'm using. Overall I would agree that imp and lm would cover most situations the best.

20ga: IC/Mod shooting Rio 1oz 7.5's

I shoot a CZ Bobwhite SXS 20ga. Mod in the left and Improved Mod in the right. You'll want that little tighter choke with that 20. Need to put more pellets on target to get a good knock down with that 20ga. In an ideal situation, all the birds would be in your face and make a 10-15yrd shot.... we all know this doesn't happen that way, especially a little later in the season. Save yourself the frustration and get you a set of Briley extended chokes for it.

Remember the OP for this Question is for a 20ga. Do most of y'all hunt with double 20's??? I assume most of you hunt with 12's. I see a lot of responses saying different things that make more sense if its for a 12. 20's pattern diff especially at anything over 15yrds

I don't hunt birds with anything larger than a 20ga period... but I don't hunt ducks. Mostly dove and quail and an occasional pheasant hunt. IMO (and experience), a 20ga is plenty of gun if you put the bb's on the bird. There is no need to be taking 50-60 yard shots at any bird.

50-60yrd shot at anything with a shotgun is out there.

I use mod /ic. But I am shooting a 12 ga.
