A troubled dove hunter..

A troubled dove hunter.. - 08/27/15 02:15 AM

I'm going to be one of the many APH hunters this year for dove. I live in Houston, so the only real choices within a reasonable driving distance is China, tx or Waller. What to do, what to do??? I went to China today and it doesn't look promising at all and Waller said no scouting in the handbook but contemplating driving by anyways. Where would yall go. Dilemmas suck..

Follow the rules. No scouting. Just go for a nice quiet drive.

I can't believe there wasn't any birds in china. Is that stuff planted in rice this year?

There is food and water every where for the birds, they seem thin every where.

That is about all we ever have around here is resident birds. The further you are from Beaumont the worse the hunting is usually. If you can find where a rice truck spilled some rice you can have some good hunting out that way.

I used to live a few miles from that spot in Waller, hunted it many times, but it's been about 8 years. The people that own the land live about 3/4 down the road that parallels length of field. I've talked with the guy a few times, he's a pretty decent guy. Will shoot you a PM

Should not have a problem with keeping the birds moving, there is a dove lease less than a mile from the PHL. A couple hundred guns at least.
