Banding Wood Ducks - 02/05/15 09:36 PM

Call me a softy, but I'd much rather watch a wood duck than shoot one.

Awesome video.

They might be my favorite duck to hunt. I love creepin up a creek real slow and hearing them whistle just around a bend.

Didn't get back to get more wood duck boxes out on the place in Mississippi like I planned to this year. Have a creek with beaver dams for over 400 yards through timber. They love that place for nesting. Still have 2 boxes out but would like to have a few more

I watch 200 fly by every evening. Every year when the river has water they congregate. In the evening for the last 15 minutes of light they come by in droves.

That's cool. We have quite a few in a our area, and a large population 15 minutes from the house. You don't see them unless you're in a certain spot at first light or at last light. Fortunately, before and after legal shooting time smile
