Lavon, tx - 01/23/15 08:42 PM

Anyone know of anywhere besides Lake Lavon to hunt around Lavon? Would hunt the lake but there no water in parts of the lake zoned for waterfowl.

Let me clarify... Somewhere you don't mind sharing the location of. Lol obviously I am aware that you may not want to disclose that information and will not be offended if you don't. Just looking for a place I might could get in a hunt before season is over.

Pay a guide, he'll give you a hunt.

Re: Lavon, tx - 01/23/15 09:23 PM

Have you put in any effort to find a spot yet, or just wanting someone to tell you where to go?

My first approach would be to get on Google earth/maps. Find what lakes you are willing to drive to, and find out what rules there are.

Read this too:

Get out there and try it is the next step.

Good luck

Lavon is covered up with MILLIONS of ducks. All kinds. And they're EASY to get to. Get there fast before they're gone!

Re: Lavon, tx - 01/23/15 10:34 PM

It is a speed trap.

I'm gonna follow yall in and set up 50 ft away, then I'm gonna take a nice dump right at shooting light, in front of God and everyone . True story, it happened.

But yeah, Lavon is a hotspot. Especially right out from mallard park. Just hunt those pockets of water right off 78.

Right off the west side of 78 just north of fm 6 when you go over the bridge. I have to see those ducks out there every morning and night on the trip to work and back. That little cove is covered in them.

Well if your feeling froggy go on and jump, son. I'm sitting at Lavon watching mallards swim around the blocks, so this should be a quick shoot.

I must warn you though, if you mess with the bull your gonna get the horns up

I bet you'er a lot of fun in the duck blind. You should try anger management class.

To the OP, might try the Public Forum, you will get more "serious'" help over there.

Just sick of these internet bullies. They gave a guy hell not too long ago for asking about hunting at Tawakoni. He ended up being a teenage kid just looking for a hunt. Gets my blood boiling.

Absurd is the word that comes to mind, not grudge. imho shooting pigeons is similar to, say, shooting city park ducks. Or cats roaming around the neighborhood. Or grasshoppers. Or sparrows. Or.....
