Banded duck travels survey

Banded duck travels survey - 01/12/15 10:29 PM

We had a wonderful hunt recently at the lease in the sleet/rain in Central Texas and my son bagged a banded Gadwall. He entered the number in the BBL website and found out the duck had been banded in 2013 as a duckling in SE Oregon. He must not have liked the Pacific Flyway so he switched to Central.
Curious where other banded ducks killed in Texas originate. I saw the recent post from the coast of a Redhead banded in Saskatchewan.

We killed a banded sandhill crane in 2011 out in West Texas. It was banded in Nebraska in 2004.

Someone posted a cool website here about a year ago that was a virtual map of exactly what you are looking for, but I can't remember the name of the website. Maybe someone will repost it.

I've shot a few banded Woodies in East Texas and they all seemed to come from Iowa. Shot a Mallard that came from Minnesota.

I think there was an article on here a little while back about a banded bird (a dove I think)that was like 13 years old?
