Electronic Call

Electronic Call - 12/22/14 04:31 PM

Being new to the duck hunting, I was curious if there are any electronic duck calls that work well. Since I just started, I do not own any duck calls and it would probably take a while before I got good at using one. Any electronic calls on the market that seems to work well?

You're only allowed to use electronic calls on Lake Ray Hubbard. I just use the duck call app on my iPhone and hold the speaker next to the microphone on a cheap bull horn I bought from Harbor Freight. Works awesome.

Even on private property in Van Zandt county?

It depends on which sub county of Van Zandt you're in. The rules are all different.

If a person cannot breathe, I wonder if they can get a medical deferment to allow the use of electronic calls?

Good luck with your hunts, I'm glad to see people enjoying getting into the sport. (Not sarcasm)

Electric calls for migratory game birds (ducks, cranes, geese, doves...) are illegal. There is an exception which is for snow geese during spring conservation season. During that time you can use e-callers but you can only shoot white geese.

Very surprised no one tried to shoehorn in some kind of tie in with teal tags. Because with proper permit, teal tags, and calibrated caller it is legal in some areas to use an e-caller. The paperwork is a nightmare though. PM Garrett for details though because he can walk you through it. Or just call Jeff at silver creek....they have an ecall made easy clinic he puts on every October.
