The weather was nice today and he's getting to be manageable in the field so we took my five year old duck hawking this morning. He helped me with the flush while my friend watched and took photos.
We've been doing well; the last three times I've flown this bird he's put a duck in the bag. Today was a lesser scaup. The falcon as usual chewed up the neck. My son got to carry the duck back to the truck and thought having the blood on his hands was cool. It was pretty funny.
