Pipe to build duck pond

Pipe to build duck pond - 11/18/14 03:09 PM

I am looking for a drain pipe. Anything over 20 inches ID and 24 foot long. I need a secong piece that is 12 foot long. We have decided to go big or go home. Next year we are flooding the whole valley, backing up 20 acres of water. The small 2 acre pond is drawing only wood ducks and a few mallards, not near what I want to be shooting at. So if you know of some pipe I can use pm me please.

Sounds like you need something like C900 PVC like this.

By the way, will you be starting up an outfitting service?

It has to be metal. We will have the mail pipe through the dam and an upright pipe on constant drain to control the water level. The main pipe will have a gate valve. This will not be for outfitting, just my brother and I. I did someguiding and still do every now and again. The last time I did it was last year and I was instantly reminded why I don't like to guide. The only reason I did it was a friend of mine asked me to do it. These guys were 100% pure buttholes.

LOL...I know all about those BHs. Sounds like you need something like Ductile Iron Mechanical Joint Pipe. Check this out.

Just finished doing that about a month ago Wayne. Installed a pipe with flood boards on a 30 acre DU project, and another on a 20 acre project. We got the pipe from Dankliffs in Garwood.

That looks great featherduster. I wish we could use a flashboard riser. The pipe will be going in a creek channel. The upright drain pipe will have to be 12 foot long or tall in this instance. You pond looks great.

24" OD 1/4 wall pipe is around $25/ft OTD from J&I in Madill OK, cheapest place around here. I know you're a ways away but if you find an excuse to get this far north it may be worth the trip

Wayne, here is an interesting read if you intend to fish this pond. I thought the two pipe standpipe was especially interesting because it allows the deeper areas to circulate better.

Closer to your neck of the woods than Garwood.
