Is there a master list of guides on the forum anywhere? Maybe create a sticky?

We had gadwalls and teal but not many yet. Cold weather will bring them in. We only hunt weekends so will see this weekend...

Re: Guides sure have been quite in North TX - 11/05/14 02:48 AM

I don't book my first hunts till the 20th. I've got better things to do than get up at 4 am just to hand clients their money back because we didn't see any ducks, or enough ducks for 4 or 6 guys to get a chance to shoot a limit at. So in mean time I'm just fun hunting public with my buddies shooting resident mallards

We shot Gads, Widg, Mallards, Cans, Reds and Teal. Seeing Pins already too. Crazy how many new birds we have been getting in. Looks to be a GREAT year!!!

Re: Guides sure have been quite in North TX - 11/05/14 04:45 AM

We killed birds on all of our hunts. We have been very honest with the number of birds we have been seeing to our clients. They know when they come out if they don't see birds they get another hunt. Now if we get birds in and they cannot hit em that's not on us! Honesty and not hyping hunts is the best approach.

Guess you haven't been around much. It's pretty much like that every year. As mentioned birds don't get here good until the about 3rd week. Sure there will be birds here before and maybe a good number in the 2nd week but it's a toss up.

Had to postpone my opening weekend hunt. Bird numbers where low. Starting to see a few birds now. Hope to have some pictures after the weekend. Watching the weather up north, birds should start to move down late this weekend. Ready to get out.

This guide just got back from ND yesterday birds are just starting to trickle in ahead of the front that's going through the area today . It won't be long with the full moon coming and the temps starting to drop . But SD and KS will stop a pile of birds !

Re: Guides sure have been quite in North TX - 11/05/14 03:54 PM

Most N. TX guides guide over tanks, birds are not on tanks really. Same thing as last season, guides didn't start stacking birds until later in the season.

There were blue wings in N TX up to the end of Oct, same as last year.

I bet the sandbass will run a few weeks late again too.

I thought 'ol Ogle was telling Judd yesterday there were 1000's of birds here in Texas, but most were too lazy to find them. I guess you guides are lazy? roflmao

Ogle is legit!!That guy hunts super secret with God like skills never takes a pic and we just have to take his word for it that he piles up fat stacks of green where others fail.

I have 5-6 big ones patterned so hopefully one makes the fatal mistake. When I say big I mean 180+

Well said, Jeff. I was shocked at number of birds today vs this weekend. Big front coming next weekend. Should be barrels-a-blazing

Well there are still green leaves on the trees and some green grass. It was 34 degrees opening morning here according to the truck thermometer.

We had a thousand birds on a soil conservation lake and I'm further south than y'all.

Because that's the proper technique for posing with dead animals. Everybody knows that! You must be a rookie. laugh
