New Property, Head Shots X3 - 03/22/18 06:44 PM
Toured the property in the morning and came back in the evening, brought a little stool to sit on and was there for the final 90 minutes of daylight. The wind was not too back, temperature and humidity were great - I could not have been much more comfortable. The cattle took no notice of me (GOOD!). Geese were in the wheat field. A few deer were there initially as well. As the sun started to set, more and more deer showed up, and then came the hogs.
Being a new property, I decided beforehand that I would be doing all head shots on stationary hogs and only shooting moving hogs if they were close. After the first hog went down, deer and hogs ran, but not too far. I moved to a secondary position and dropped another one. I figured that was it as the remaining hogs and deer headed for the woods...but one little hog needed a potty break before leaving the field...
