18 Hogs Down Saturday Night

Got to go hunting with some buddies up in north Texas along the Wichita River. While there was no moon, good cloud cover, and it has rained briefly which helped make for better hog hunting, winds were up, everything was about the same temperature (not good for thermal), and we even had misting for part of the night (also not good for thermal). With a lot of luck and good stalking, we worked the wind to our favor and never got busted, and surprisingly, didn't get busted when a hog was down wind of us, either.

So, we ended up firing a few extra shots, but in the end, we got a lot of hogs down...

I was surprised how many pregnant sows there were and we didn't open up all of them either. That big, 255 pounder that Nathan was on the ground with (for scale) was newly pregnant, with tiny little fetuses, each smaller than a dime. We thought she would be full of near term piglets as large as she was, but she was just a really large hog.

Your vids continue to be my favorites. Short, sweet, action packed and you don't spend the first 10 minutes doing set up. The only others that I find as enjoyable are the guys with the converted SUV chasing hogs across fields with 00 buckshot, and some of the helicopter vids. Keep up the great works!
