Now the short story. Last couple of days we have had a couple of big pigs on camera and I decided they needed to be removed. SIL came over with my daughter and the grandkids so we had a nice meal of burgers and hotdogs. I offered to let my daughter go shoot but she wanted to stay with the baby. SIL and I got ready and off we go along with my wife who is the Judas to the pigs. They have learned to listen for the 4-wheeler to leave and then they come out to eat. She dropped each of us on a stand and left. About 30 minutes later out comes a small sow. She crossed behind the wallow and headed towards Jacob, aka SIL. I let him know she was coming at a trot and waited. About 15 minutes later out comes the whole sounder with this boar in charge. He is the smaller of the 2 we are trying to cull. After milling about for what felt like forever he finally gave me a head on shot. One shot from my grendel with a 129gr sst and it was all over. Sadly the other one got away. Going out to look for him after daylight. I think the SIL gets a little nervous when I am around. He does a good job when I am gone. In other words he shot but didn't drop his pig. This is him in the pictures. 6'2 about 260 lbs so you have perspective.
He weighed in at 248.
