The biggest Boar of my life dropped with one headshot!!

After being out-smarted on two different occasions, I finally caught up with this 317 lb. boar and had another chance at dropping this beast. This big old Boar has taught me a few lesson along the journey and I'm proud to share this story with all my hunting buddies here on this forum!

Is the weight a guess or did you weigh it, just asking bc I've killed 240 lb boats that look bigger.

Yeah I had to put the scale on a front end loader and pick it up with the tractor. It was a frog butt hair over 317. It's hard to tell in the picture because we are kind of in a hole but he was really thick. I couldn't even drag him by myself. I know what you mean though, it's hard to tell in pictures don't they really don't do it justice..

I gave him to a buddy to take to the processor. We'll see how much meat he gets off of it..

East Texas has some monster hogs and I've caught glimpses of hogs that were probably bigger but they are very elusive and smart. I've showed this picture to some of the surrounding landowners and most of them said that it's the biggest that they've seen in a long time. There's no telling how many hogs in the area that he's responsible for..

considering it was a head shot and no meat wasted I'd think he will have enough for a long time haha

cool vid, yes East has some big hogs... How far you from OSBWMA in Smith Co. ? Last hunts their seen several big hogs like that in different areas ... a good friend & i were back in just little over 2 mile mark, had one in my sights but didn't pull trigger... Was a bad day for me, was recovering from back packing a smaller one few days earlier, health not best... He kept teasing he gonna make me walk back home, still gives me bad time bout not pulling trigger... He big enough could have totted it out by himself, i just felt bad bout him doing all work... He's a good friend...
.223 using 55gr fmj & hp have worked great for me, a lot lighter than big cal. if walking all day threw big thick stuff...

Thanks ya'll... I'm hunting these hogs in Van Zandt county near Smith county in a little town called Ben Wheeler, in the neches river bottoms. My buddy has been asking for a pig for a while so I called him up after I shot this one and he took it. I wouldn't eat anything that big and old but beggers can't be chosers. Yotehater: he was caked in at least 20 pounds of mud but it still counts, don't it? haha...
