has anyone hunted down by the cornudas mtns or the wind or Alamo mtns. did you see any javelina or quail down there. I have a friend that's hunts texas near the border and see a lot of javelina on the texas side just south of hwy 62. always wanted to try hunting deer down there. does unit 29 have a lot of blm land

Never been to Alamo Mtns. but good hunting at, texasshoot-out.com
Been going for over 25 yrs.

Never hunted there but there are javi's and I'm sure although I've never seen any...quail. I drive out that way plenty on the Texas side and see plenty of pronghorn as well. there are MD in the area just in pockets and you'll need some good glass and plenty of land.

Hunt that area a bunch. Hunt near McGregor range and around the dirt tanks. See lots of Javelina

is there any motels or lodging along hwy 62/180 from el paso out to cornudas or up to del city

thanks for the info leaving Monday for five days. staying at the value place [hope it isn't to bad] it doesn't seem to far to get to gmu 29

having trouble finding the road that goes north into n.m. went out as far as the border patrol inspection. he told me to go back and take the road north by the sign that says land for sale went down there stoped by park ranger told me that road doesn't go there just into the park.
does anyone know the name of the road that goes north . the only other way is to go to dell city and north or up 54 past oragrande than east through the range
