Hog Killin' bullet - 09/18/16 10:17 PM

Really liking 165 gr Hornady SST, got a double with Tikka CTR.

The SST seems to be a very good bullet in several calibers. I has the characteristics of tending to both penetrate well and to come apart in such a manner as to cause larger-sized wound cavities.

That's a nice hog. Where's the other?

About 40 yards north of this one.

The SST has produced many DRTs for me. Great bullet!

So far so good, it's new to me. I went to .308 two years ago and chose this bullet. Three coyotes, a good buck and one of these hogs have all dropped. I wish they made SST in .300 black out. For that, I'm shooting 110 gr V-max which has been good on coyotes, does and a few small pigs. Not sure how it would do on large hogs.

My choice also for both the AR10 for pigs and the bolt gun for deer.

I shoot it through my Remington 700 5R Mil-Spec and my Tikka CTR. Good stuff.

Ya, I load the same bullet for my sig 716 and have had no problem taking hogs....drops right where they stand. Good round.
