Before and after

I measured his chest three time and came up with an average of 46.5". Based on measurement charts he weighed roughly 267. The dead picture doesn't do his body size justice. He looks a little different in the dead pic because he just came out of the water and mud.

He looks long and lean. Those ones can be very deceiving on size esp in pics. Good job getting him!!

Good job!

Yeah, it can be disappointing when you see them down on their side and they look deflated.

I am of the belief that with long legs like that, he was destined to still grow quite a bit more in girth. Glad you got him when you did.

At 267 lbs, he was eating a bit over 8 lbs of food per day (adults eat about 3% of body weight per day), which would be nearly 3000 lbs worth a year if he didn't gain weight.

Good Job!

That's a pretty good sized hog. They're usually too tough to put on the grill, but they make great sausage, or just ground meat for tacos, chili, meat loaf, spaghetti sauce — you get the idea . . .

Now, go get some more and report back !! happy3
