For meat, one of the little ones. For pig control I woulda' waited until they finished and shot the sow.

I would have shot the biggest sow and tried to get a double or triple with follow up shots.

My first shot would be the biggest sow. Best eating, most fat, and much better option for population control than shooting a boar.

When I get groups like I try to shoot where I can get a pass through hit on a second pig. Nothing better than hitting two pigs with one shot.

I always shoot the biggest boar because I hunt state land. If I owned the property I would likely kill the sow to help with population

The spotted one for the meat. If I go to the trouble of dressing the pig I want to have enough meat to make it worth while.

5-10 lbs of tannerite,1 shot= a bunch of dead hogs. That's how I'd do it.

People have tried that - it doesn't work

We do it quite often, works very well. The shock wave will kill almost any pig within 10-15 foot of it.

Obvioius hog problem, shoot the biggest sow and hopefully some follow ups on others. population explosion this year.

I would let the white spotted ones walk and let them breed. It would be very neat to have more white/spotted hogs like that. I have never seen one that white in the wild before. So, I would let them go, and let them breed.

The bore "getting some" would have been my target, or the sow on the receiving end. That's just rude to do in front of the children.. Somebody would have to pay for that.

It has always been my understanding that population controle ment shooting the males of the species. A female can only have so many offspring in a litter, the male on the other hand is limmited only by the number of avaidable femails at any given time.

Can somone explane the theroy of shooting femails for population controle?

I think you answered your own question,if you have 10 sows and 5 boar and you kill 3 boar then remaining 2 boar can still breed the 10 sow. If you shoot 3 sows then it doesnt matter how many boar there are,the boar can only breed the 7 remaining sow therefore reducing number of piglets. Thats my take on it

I always go for a double on the first shot.

I always wait until the 2 biggest line up, so I can try for a double kill, or 3 mediums.
