Couple more out of commission - 04/30/16 03:46 PM
Worked hard to get these guys down and found. Wheat was so high I lost sight of them as soon as they dropped so I ended up taking my truck down into the field and stopped every 25-30 yards, getting out and getting on the bed and searching down into then wheat to try and spot them. The little ones showed as much thermal energy as a small rock would from about 10 yards away, almost completely hidden until I was right up on them. The bigger one (approx 170+ lbs) I didn't see until I stopped right next to him. He was completely hidden in the wheat from just 25 yards away even up on the bed looking down. I got lucky and stopped about 5 yards away from him and he showed up really well that close. Pulling around I then commenced to get stuck in some mud. Thank goodness I had help right around the corner, he was a lifesaver!!
The pics were not taken in the wheat field, the grass wasn't near as high where I dropped them.
