Many of you probably know this already, but some may not.

As long as it goes into your (hunters) pocket, sounds like a good idea, if they are a problem for sure!

I could pay half my feed bill if our county offered a bounty.

If you have some buyers close by you can do a lot better than that.

Lee County did that a couple of years ago. They ran out of money in May.

I would ask the owners but even around here i meet to farmers i took them on over 20 guided catfhishing trips i charge 350-375 for to hut hogs then it cam time for me to hunt they wanted to charge me 1500 each to use there land to kill hogs said the were giving me a great deal there land leases for much more but the deal was i take you fishing you let me kill hogs and the one guy said last year the hogs coast him $30,000 in damages to his wheat fields its crazy to me Ny had a ground hog problem cows and horse step in there holes and break leads then it has to be put down you will never see a land owner tell you to get our of his pasture if your shooting woodchucks i just cant wrap my head around why these farmers do this complain but wont let people on there land to help them out every thing is about money well i say loose your money to the hog or let me and other come on your land and take them for free it a win win
i really want to hunt hogs i have never done it deer dont excite me at all no matter how big its rack is i dont care about that i just want o eat them i through the horns away i have so many i like to hunt them but its to the same as calling in a big old tom siting under an oak tree coved head to toe in camp trying not to move and he gobbles his way in strutting no that is more of a rush then a large horned deer but hogs just sound fun and they are very good to eat i love that wild flavor they have

Goliad County has been doing this for a few years now. There have been enough hogs killed in 2014 to get some funds to add to it. They finished 5th in the state and had $25,000 added to the fund. March 2015 thru Sept 15th 2015 they had 1764 hogs killed that claimed a $5 bounty per hog. They probably will not be in the Statewide contest for 2015 since they have not used all the money added to the fund for hog bounties.
