Son's first hog. 196 lbs! - 11/30/15 05:06 AM

Nasty weather all week in Callahan county but a little break in the weather on Friday and he decided to wait on a boar we had on the cameras. He was up in a tripod stand about 110 yards from the feeder. He said the big boar wouldn't step into the motion sensors field to activate the hog light. It was like he knew exactly where the motion sensor would pick up his movement. But because of a full moon my son could still see him pretty good. He cleaned his ears out with an excellent shot. Used a handheld tactical LED light and held it up to the front stock of his Savage 111 in 30 aught 6. His first hog on his own property. 196 lbs. We quartered it and took the back straps with the gutless method and are going to try and make sausage from it. Sorry on the second picture. Any pointers to the sausage or cooking this beast are appreciated!

cheers Almost looks like two different hogs... One of the reason went with the dusk ta dawn cellular lights tis they stay on, if ya got the good ones... Mine are cheap, yet even with the low end scope can still see cross hairs & what ever steps out of the shaddows... The laser gave little longer shooting... Sausage throw in some bacon tips, cajun rub & hickory grill seasoning, have made hog-jerky also... Congrates... flag
