Its been brought to my attention that we need a 2014 hog kill thread. Thank you everyone for participating in the 2013 thread. Hope we can kill more in 2014, good luck.

We added 11 of them on Friday night in Bastrop at the Wallace Ranch. One sow and two boars over 100 lbs, and seven shoats (eater size). Count stands at 235.

Got my first hog ever! Sat 3/22/14 around 4 a.m. Was a blonde spotted one somewhere between 200-250.(So I was told, I just know he was a heavy SOB to drag on a blown knee)

I can tell you we (Hogs for a Cause) has processed 19,000 lbs of hogs and given them away already this year. Doing a helicopter hunt in Mason, TX tomorrow and feeding a hoard in Gatesville, TX at the Hog dog hunt.

Have yet to kill a hog this year though......crazy hunh? maybe when the eradication hunts slow down we will have a better opportunity to wack a few ourselves.

Shot one at our ranch a couple of weeks ago and tracked him for about an hour but I had to leave to go meet a customer. Walking around the woods last weekend I found a hog skull and bones. Not gonna count it because I had no way of proving it was the one I shot. But it was a dead hog.

My buddy Joe and I walked up on a herd of pork right at dusk Sunday... group had 1 large boar 3 sows and half dozen piglets. Managed to cut down all the adults and one youngster. Boar turned out to be HUGE. Took 3 solid hits to ground check him. He's in the top 3 biggest pigs ever taken on this ranch. 300lbs easy. And 4 inch cutters.
