Not a hunting knife, but I had fun making it - 07/27/16 11:59 PM
I like to do a little bit of leather work, and as I get more and more into it, the cost of tools and leather is increasing. I can't do much about the cost of leather, but I can make some of my own tools and save some money. Round knives are particularly expensive
I am not a knife maker, so I probably did all of this wrong.
Not sure if this is good steel, or even what kind it is but its been in my shop for a LONG time doing nothing but collecting dust.
I've got this old Milwaukee portaband from when I use to work in strip mines. This thing was an amazing time saver making hand rails
I don't have one of those nice knife making belt sanders, but I do have this little 1x30 dude I bought when I was 18 years old for like $24.
Bought this guy at the same time for $150 - Before I learned about real wood working, I used it as a planer.
This is as much bevel as I could put on it
Hate this part
Now for the handle
Some redneck heat treat
