I want to see your skinner or edc knives

I want to see your skinner or edc knives - 09/29/15 04:55 PM

I've gotten the itch to have an edc or skinner made. I know there are some awesome makers on here. I've been trolling here looking at pictures as well as the websites of the guys that have them listed.

I know I'd like a drop point fixed blade knife. Not sure one what steel or scales. I'm not looking for something super fancy. Just a well built knife that I can one day pass down.

Just looking for ideas.

Thanks fellas.

Doc.

Edit to add: Don't mean this to be just for makers. If you've had one made post it up.

This is what I have used last year and will this year. I design these for the Whiteriver family. The blade is S30V with black G10 handles. Holds a good edge and works for what I hunt. I keep a few on hand all time.

Awesome knives fellas.

Jerry, what is the blade and OAL length on your design?

Chop, what did you use for the bolster and scales on those two?

3 1/2 inch of cutting edge plus 1/4 inch between it and the handle.
It took me a year of getting hogs and deer to tweak it to where it works really well right side up or upside down for those cuts to where your hand does not get tired. These are not made just to sell but to do the work for you.

the handle on a Sendero appears to be a bit short. There is a reason for that. The little finger hooks back there easy when you need control. Upside down your thumb fits against the back of the guard and the back end fits into the back portion of the hollow of your hand for control and power for those "slitting' cuts. The handle is 4 3/8 inches long.

Cow, that's Jank you are talking about. "Lets see something" could be a loaded question. lol
He does do good work as a number of the makers on this site.

The top one has Titanium Bolsters and the blade is 3 1/2" - 3 3/4" since I cut em out by hand it varies a little. This design is my EDC as well as my hunting carry! This one has Blue Mammoth Tusk handles

Bottom is my Game Caper design and has a 2 3/4" CE and makes removing the cape an easy peasy task! At this size I can work the cape even when I can't see both hands! This one has stabilized Burlwood Bolsters and Prickly Pear Cactus handles.

I'm purdy sure Jank has a couple he could show too!

Okay; I’ll play these are some of my fav’s because they were for very special people in my life. The first two were for my sons and the next for very special friends. I love giving away my work to special people in my life.

For strictly a skinning knife I always enjoyed the Sharpfinger. Here's one I made for a forum member a couple of years back.

Here are a few skinner/edc designs I have made recently. The first one is the only one that is available.

I've got one of his knives! And I really like it. I wonder what ever happened to him? Haven't seen him post in a loooong time. And Stic? DOn't see him around much either? I've got 3 or 4 made by him.
Here's one of my Stic knives. It's not an edc or skinner, but it's a chopping son of a gun, lol. Also happens to be the only one I've got a pic of.
