Knife show in Dallas June 13/14, need knifemakers

Knife guys, we've got a local Texas show looking for table holders. The show is Saturday/Sunday June 13/14 at Market Hall in Dallas, in conjuction with the Dallas Arms Collectors gun show. We expect 50+/- custom knifemakers and will have our own knife show section. Tables are $80. That's the good news.

Bad news is, that date is the weekend after the Blade Show in Atlanta, the largest knife show in the USA. What that means in practical terms is that the "rockstar" knifemakers won't be with us in Dallas. What that also means is that we need table holders from the middle levels of knifemakers. If you've been at it a year or two and can put 5-10 knives together in a month, we'd love to have you. Email me at frycustomknives@gmail.com and I can send you the show application. Jason, we will not be back from the blade show by then as we are taking a side trip.
The show sounds good and sounds like you are doing it right.
We have our monthly Uncle Al meeting of knifemakers tonight. I will mention this to them as they are some good makers there that does not go to Bladeshow.

The show turned out reasonably well. We had about 40 knifemakers with tables, and a couple of supply guys. Most of us sold one or two, and a few did really well. The crowds weren't thick, but there were people buying. Troy Hawley, Steve Woods, and Jerry Moen did well, as did Ron Richerson's supply tables. Tim "Chops" Lambkin got the award for Best Fixed Blade and Best Tactical. Ronnie Packard won Best Folder. My frame handle dagger won Best of Show. We also had a board meeting of the Texas Knifemakers' Guild and made good progress. Membership informaton will be coming out soon.

Next year the show will be April 9-10, not the week after Blade Show, so we should have a better turnout of table holders and suppliers. This is a great opportunity, fairly close to home, to hang out with other knifemakers, hand pick your supplies, and move some product. Mark it on your calendar now!
