Locking Damascus folder with engraving

Locking Damascus folder with engraving - 04/17/15 08:43 PM

This is my Old Thorny model lock back folder. It is an NLT marked piece. The handles are mammoth ivory, the Damascus is some that I did a basket weave with, the engraved bolster are deep relief and 24kt gold inlay that I managed to scratch out. Folders are rare for me, I normally only make less than 3 per year. This is the first of this style/model that I have completed in 3 years. Generally people do not mind when you have to say, "Pardon me, while I whup this out". Hope you like it.

I don't even think I'd be mad if someone stabbed me with that. It'd be an honor.

I have a Harvey McBurnette folder that I would like to open and fold at the the same time to see which has the slickest action. You make a beautiful knife, admire a maker that does his own engraving.

Are you still involved with the school in Texarkana?

Blackcoal, Harvey made a good folder for sure. Not with the school now. What teaching i do, I do in Brazil
Bigdog, my normal folders goes for around $5,000. This one went for more as i did some work that i normally do not do. he was on the waiting list for 3 years so he wanted to kick it up a bit. I only make less than 3 folders per year at best and some times only one for the year.

Mr.Fisk you do beautiful work. That being said, I probably would never be able to afford 5K for one of your exquisite folders. The bowies you made with the George Washington trees are stunning. Could you post some of your fixed blades working/hunting knives that some of us avg hunter might be able to acquire.

Thanks Hetman

Hetman, yes, I do have. I will post up a couple in a days.
The last post I gave here I was in Brazil at that time, just did not want to say so being not at the house. I was attending a knife show down there, teaching and testing a couple of guys for their Journeyman stamps.
