Did anyone dove hunt on the Hebert Preserve last year, I found a post from four years ago but was wondering how the hunting is out there?

I hunted there probably three or four times last year for late evening hunts. I always had a few shots but probably not over 10 shots any one day.

My son and I drove out to see it about August 8 or so. All of the yellow boundary signs were gone. The rule/map boards were missing as well. I was afraid that the unit had been removed from the available areas. But when the Annual Map Booklets were produced the Herbert unit was listed as available.

My son emailed Texas Parks and Wildlife and the reply was that we could hunt there again this year. So I will likely drive out again this weekend to watch for birds.

I drove out there yesterday all the markers were up along with the rules/map boards. I was there during lunch time so didn't see much of anything but a lot of water everywhere.
