OSBWMA parking area?

So what is going on? They still have the fenced parking area on 1804, but it has been cleared out! Is a check in station in the future in that spot? OK, Colt45, what's going on there?

Just kidding, have you found out any thing ? When 1804 (Hoard Rd) floods the parking area tis under water... We got several inches of rain here last couple of days... Sand Bass are biting, wish had my fishing licence...

As the song says: Just a little farther on down the line... Be nice if they pud in a little camping area, the other three are on the main road... First one is were they have meetings for draw hunts & cook outs... its nice, then i like roughing it... Couple years ago thy stopped the sign in, don't have ta fill out cards.. Still my tagoto place for hunting.... Lots of great memories, the big lottory, first thing thought if twas thinking bout buying it, keep it WMA but have some idea's... Lower income can't aford the high pricces of leasing... ones i was on were $200.00-250.00 at most a year... Was told about the hogs on first lease, or probley would have hunted around house... It had cattle on it back then but still hunted it after work at times... Ya ever go sit at night for a hog & need company give a shout... realize most places dont allow tag a long... 2013-2014 got ta do a ride along ta lease we started a cabin on... Most people used ta hunt with quit, son is in Baltimore Mariline He moved their after done with Marines... Best Wishes..

Any up dates on OSBWMA ? Think the squirrel, hog hunts going on... Finding hogs twas the easy part...

My place has flooded with every rain. 1804 under water several more times. I have a stand to move if it ever dries up. Have a hog roll around packed with moldy corn I haven't been able to get to since the first flood last year. Might have to use TNT to get the old corn out.

PS Food plots looked great, but floods ran all the deer and hogs to higher ground.

get ya some tanerite.. Don't think ya can get TNT... That flooding pushes out the deer & hogs on the WMA... Makes better deer hunts for surrounding land owners, WMA has lots of oaks, deer come inta the corn... Also hogs, can thin them out cause of the 24-7-365 hog hunts...
WMA has restictions & draws hogs, less pressure, most hunters stay close ta old ATV trails & parking areas... Used ta see tons of hog rooting up along trails when acorns started dropping, not an expert like most hog hunters on here, tis thinking most of that done at night.... Archery hunts used ta set up off the ATV trails were hogs tore up... Seen very few hogs, twas the all legal meens hog hunts, pudding one four in front of de udder that pushed up hogs...
Still in Minnesota as pappy once said: would rather be hunting than working, but a wise person realizes by working can aford ta hunt .... Trying ta get some assistance alien body parts... Tried for workmans comp, & disability thar, no help... Takes money ta live....
They have some great hunting & fishing here, less hassel the big bucks, what's legal tis legal.... Best Wishes... Not able ta shoot 4 deer like Smith County though...
Edit: years ago before it was WMA they tried ta get passed ta make that a lake, had pics of it... When was a meter reader, lake Tyler was almost bone dry, they had water rationing, so rain can be a good thing...

Well it will be under water again this coming week and next for sure if we get the 6" of rain. Never will get my pig pipe or get my stand moved!!

so whats the update on OSBWMA ? River back ta normal yet ? it would still be my tagoto place for hunting... Recovering from shoulder replacement... my hunting may be limited ta with camera this year... Archery here in Minn. starts in mid Sept. seen several nice deer, pheasant, & turkey... Best Wishes ta all that wonder about the woods hopen ta do some en & chillen specialy the good ol boys shared hunting & camp outs with... Stay safe & enjoy the time spent...
