Whitney lake public land

Anybody hunting lake Whitney public land this year? Looking to get some info on how the hunting has been the past few years!

I've been hunting Whitney since 1962. Some years have been really good, most have been acceptable. The past three years have seen a steady decline in doves and I don't recall the last time I saw or heard quail. Last year I went to Whitney twice. First trip, opening day, I saw 2 doves 200 yds away. The next trip, second Saturday into the season, I saw no birds. I spent all day driving around the lake stopping at every entry point and talking to every hunter I saw. Nobody had more than 3 birds, most had 1 or none. Nobody had seen anything but a few singles and doubles. I haven't seen any posts from the Whitney area this season yet. I may try it next Saturday. If I do, I'll post here.
